To fit with our new name, branding and colours, we bought a new pink Christmas Tree for the office! We’ve had some lovely comments about it. Students and staff tell us the office is a lovely, calm welcoming space.
This year, Emma, our very talented Marketing Coordinator, used her artistic skills to create a beautiful Christmas House Advent calendar for the office window—each one of the 12 windows opened to reveal one of our 12 days of Christmas Student Activity. The activities included wreath-making, gonk-making, painting cards, and more, all of which were a big success!
We held our Annual Bake Sale on 9th December, together with a Warm Winter Clothes Sale. Staff donated their warm winter clothes (Coats, hats, jumpers, scarves, etc), which we sold at a very low price to our students. We raised nearly £300! The money raised will be donated to Bolton Hospice, who urgently need more funding. Thank you to the students and staff who bought cakes and clothes.
To help our students with younger children, we created a board with lots of fun, exciting Elf on the Shelf ideas. As always, students loved them.
Continuing the Christmas theme, we showed Christmas films in the Loft.
Throughout December, our advisors have been busy helping students with academic advice and other issues.
On the last day of Uni before we said goodbye for the Christmas holiday, we offered students a hot chocolate drink and a mince pie in the Chancellor’s Mall. A lovely way to start the Christmas holiday.
As always, December has been very busy; in fact, it's been a very busy academic year, but we wouldn’t have it any other way! Enjoy the Christmas Break and see you in the New Year!
