During April, University staff and their students attended our very informative AI Workshops hosted by Danielle and Bill in the Loft. Academic Integrity is the engagement with, and demonstration of, honest and fair behaviour in an academic setting. It is submitting work that is your own and not trying to gain an unfair advantage by using work that has been written by others. It is wanting to learn and to be proud of the work you produce, and the marks you receive in return for your hard work.
Student feedback from these workshops is very positive. Students told us they found the workshops to be interactive, informative and immensely beneficial and recommended all students should attend.
The President hosted the Greater Manchester Student Partnership (GMSP) at the Students’ Union. This is a collaboration of Students’ Unions in Greater Manchester. Its purpose is to advocate for students’ interests and work collaboratively to improve the lives of students in the Greater Manchester, aiming to ensure students feel represented and supported.
We put on crafts for student parents and their children to attend during the Easter Holidays, giving students the opportunity to bring their children to University and have some fun.
We carried out our Speak Week Campaign, again, asking students their thoughts on Block Teaching. As always, results are anonymised, a report written and given to the University for their information and action.
Thursday 30th April was a very special evening, we held the Student Volunteering Awards Ceremony. An evening of celebrating our volunteers, Societies and their Officers and Course Reps. Awards were given out and everyone had light refreshments and an opportunity to chat afterwards.
Throughout April we continued to see students seeking advice and attend their hearings with them.
Finally, we had a few days well earned rest over the Easter Break.
